Yes, Travel Assistance & Insurance provides coverage for a maximum of 360 days from the policy start date, which begins on the day your trip starts. For round trips, the coverage ends once you return to your point of origin.
For extended coverage, we offer an Annual Multi-Trip Plan that provides protection throughout the year for all your journeys.

Assistance Benefits & Insurance Coverage

In case of accidental death or dismemberment, the insured person’s nominee or legal heir will receive the benefits. For all other covered events, the insured person will receive the benefits directly.

Travel Insurance Policy Inclusions and Exclusions

Emergency Medical Expenses

  • Coverage: Includes emergency treatment costs incurred due to sudden illness or injury during your trip that requires immediate medical attention and cannot be delayed until your return to India.

 

Emergency Medical Evacuation

  • Coverage: Covers the transportation costs to move the insured person from the site of the incident to the nearest medical facility for treatment if a covered illness or injury occurs.

 

Personal Accident (AD, PTD, PPD) / Personal Accident (Common Carrier – AD, PTD, PPD)

  • Coverage: The insurer will pay the benefit amount specified in the policy if the insured person dies due to an accident involving external and visible force.

 

Trip Delay

  • Coverage: Pays for expenses related to food and accommodation if your flight is delayed due to severe weather or technical issues with the aircraft.

 

Flight Delay

  • Coverage: Compensates for expenses incurred in arranging alternate transportation due to flight delays caused by weather, riots, strikes, or airline-related issues, after deducting any airline refunds.

 

Trip Cancellation / Trip Interruption

  • Coverage: Reimburses non-refundable expenses incurred due to trip cancellation, interruption, or curtailment. Also covers the cost of rejoining the trip if interrupted.

 

Missed Connection

  • Coverage: Covers the cost of new tickets or the price difference between the old and new tickets if a connecting flight is missed due to a delay in the prior flight.

 

Bounced Hotel Booking

  • Coverage: Covers the cost of upgrading to a higher-category room if the hotel overbooks and cannot honor the original booking.

 

Loss of Checked-In Baggage

  • Coverage: Covers the loss of checked-in baggage when it is under the custody of the airline.

 

Delay of Checked-In Baggage

  • Coverage: Provides reimbursement for essential items purchased due to the delay of checked-in baggage while outside India.

The Overseas Travel Assistance Plan provides coverage for unforeseen problems and unexpected costs incurred before or during your trip. It can reimburse expenses for the prepaid, non-refundable portions of a trip if you need to cancel or interrupt your journey for a covered reason. Yes, the Overseas Travel Assistance & Insurance covers passengers for a maximum of 360 days from the policy’s inception date, which is the commencement date of the journey. For round trips, coverage ends with the return to the originating airport or after 360 days, whichever comes first.
You can choose our Annual Multi-trip plan, which covers you for all your overseas trips within a year.

Emergency Medical Expenses

EMERGENCY MEDICAL EXPENSES

  • Inclusions: Covers emergency treatment expenses incurred while traveling due to any illness/disease that cannot be postponed until your return to India.

LIFE-THREATENING MEDICAL CONDITION

  • Inclusions: Covers medical expenses arising from treatment related to a past medical condition, which is life-threatening and requires immediate emergency treatment in ICU or critical care.

ADVENTURE SPORTS

  • Inclusions: Covers expenses for treatment of injuries sustained due to accidents while engaging in sports or adventure activities.

EMERGENCY MEDICAL EVACUATION

  • Inclusions: Covers expenses for transporting an insured from the place of incident to a nearby location or country for better treatment due to a covered illness or injury.

REPATRIATION OF MORTAL REMAINS

  • Inclusions: Covers expenses related to local cremation in the visiting country or transporting remains back to India for cremation.

DENTAL EXPENSES

  • Inclusions: Covers treatment costs for sound natural teeth due to infection or extraction to relieve pain.

 

DAILY ALLOWANCE IN CASE OF HOSPITALIZATION

  • Inclusions: A lump-sum amount paid if hospitalized for covered treatment due to illness or injury.

COMPASSIONATE VISIT

  • Inclusions: Covers travel costs to the insured’s destination or return to India in case of death or hospitalization of the insured or an immediate family member for more than 7 days.

ALTERNATE EMPLOYEE / SUBSTITUTE EMPLOYEE EXPENSES

  • Inclusions: Covers transportation costs incurred for deploying an alternate employee if the insured is hospitalized in the visiting country.

PERSONAL ACCIDENT (AD, PTD, PPD) / PERSONAL ACCIDENT (Common Carrier)

  • Inclusions: Pays the benefit amount specified in the policy if the insured dies due to visible violent external means.

TRIP DELAY

  • Inclusions: Covers expenses for food and accommodation if the flight is missed due to adverse weather or technical issues with the aircraft.

FLIGHT DELAY

  • Inclusions: Covers expenses for alternate transportation due to flight delays caused by inclement weather, riots, strikes, or airline delays.

TRIP CANCELLATION / TRIP INTERRUPTION

  • Inclusions: Covers non-refundable expenses incurred due to trip cancellation or curtailment and costs for rejoining the trip.

MISSED CONNECTION

  • Inclusions: Covers costs for new tickets or the difference in cost if the connecting flight is missed due to the previous flight.

OVERBOOKED COMMON CARRIER

  • Inclusions: Covers costs for new tickets or the difference between new and old tickets if the airline is overbooked.

BOUNCED HOTEL BOOKING

  • Inclusions: Covers additional costs for upgrading to a better room if the hotel room is overbooked.

  • Inclusions: Covers accommodation and airfare for traveling to a nearby country or returning to India due to political issues or natural disasters.

 

PERSONAL LIABILITY

  • Inclusions: Covers accidental loss or damage to life or property due to the insured’s negligence.

 

HOME BURGLARY

  • Inclusions: Covers losses from theft, robbery, or housebreaking at the insured’s residence while abroad.

 

LOSS OF GADGETS

  • Inclusions: Covers expenses related to the theft or loss of gadgets such as laptops, mobile phones, and tablets.

CAR RENTAL EXCESS INSURANCE

  • Inclusions: Covers the deductible charged by the local motor insurance policy due to any accident or damage to the rental vehicle.

DEBIT / CREDIT / FOREX CARD FRAUD

  • Inclusions: Will cover the fraudulent transactions made on the card stolen while on the trip.

 

TRAVEL LOAN SECURE

  • Inclusions: Will cover the remaining part of the principal amount of the travel loan taken by the insured in case of inability to pay due to any covered illness or accident during the travel period.

 

LOSS OF PASSPORT

  • Inclusions: Covers the cost incurred in the issuance of a new passport.

 

MUGGING BENEFIT

  • Inclusions: Will pay the insured in case he/she gets mugged while on a trip abroad.

 

TRAVEL INCONVENIENCE

  • Inclusions: Will cover the non-refundable expenses incurred by the insured in case of operation of any peril as stated in the policy terms and conditions.

 

LOSS OF INTERNATIONAL DRIVING LICENSE

  • Inclusions: Will pay for the issuance of a new driving license in case of loss while on the trip.

 

LEGAL EXPENSES

  • Inclusions: Will cover the legal costs if the insured is required to file a lawsuit against a third party for any inconvenience caused by any act of the third party.

 

BAIL BOND

  • Inclusions: Bail amount is paid on behalf of the insured for any bailable offense.

 

FINANCIAL EMERGENCY ASSISTANCE

  • Inclusions: Will facilitate the provision of a specified amount of cash from the insured’s relatives or friends.

 

GOLF EQUIPMENT COVER

  • Inclusions: Will reimburse expenses related to the loss of golf equipment brought along during the trip.

 

PET CARE

  • Inclusions: Will cover the veterinary expenses for the pet if it becomes ill or sustains injuries while in the care of a custodian.

 

DEBIT / CREDIT / FOREX CARD FRAUD

  • Inclusions: Will provide coverage for fraudulent transactions executed on a card that was stolen during the trip.
